Shed Your Stuff, Change Your Life
I've started reading this book by Julie Morgenstern. It is basically a clearing of clutter. Clutter of time and space. I have moved my clothes from the standing wardrobe, where ever time I take a shirt out I have to re-fold a whole shelf of clothes to the dresser drawers. I can now reach for a shirt and leave all the other shirts organized. Time saved, a few hours a week. Hmmm what to do with that time. This is my day today. Reading, learning and implementing what I am learning.

There are those morning when I too do not want to get up.
Today was one of those days when I wanted to crawl right back into bed for no reason whatsoever. I slept through the night. I just wanted to sleep more and ignore the flashing of the alarm clock. I went back to sleep and got up about 15 minutes later than my usual. A good cup of espresso made the old fashioned way and it time for a quick workout and then off to my day job. I am taking a mini vacation this week, Wednesday and Thursday. No chores. Okay maybe a bit of food shopping and then off to the beach. I hope the sun is shining and it doesn't rain all that much. Either way I will wander about with not much to do. Maybe read a bit and people watch. As much as I want to accomplish stuff, I realize that sometimes you just need to do nothing. Give yourself permission to do nothing, have no plans and accomplish nothing. The pleasure of nothingness.

I love Mondays!
I love Mondays because they are full of promises. It is the beginning of a new week. I make my lists of all I want to accomplish. Sometimes in my head. Sometimes I commit them to paper. There are all these questions on Monday. Will it be sunny? Will it be warm? Who will I meet this week? Will I meet someone new? Will I run into an old friend? All the possibilities are here on a Monday. It is a forward looking day. This week my main goal is to get some writing and drawing done. The second goal for the week besides paying my month end bills it is to step up my workout. For Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday I will be doing The P90 Fat Burning Hawaii Workout. It is a 50 minutes high intensity workout. On Mon, Wed, and Friday I will still do my 20 minute workouts and get to my breakfast meeting on time or late. It doesn't matter as long as I make it to the meeting 7:30am. Conversation with a group of like minded health fanatics. I just love Mondays!!

Raining Again!
It's raining again and again...I thought it never rained in Southern California?! I might as well live in Seattle or London.
A new day has burst through the clouds and yesterday was just one of those days when the food took over. Sort of like the boogie man hiding in your closet. You know it's not real yet you follow the impulses anyway and all reason and sanity go out the window. Today I am right back on the horse. I am running out of chocolate shakeology and the greenberry, I am getting a bit sick of . I can't wait until they figure out how to make vanilla shakeology or maybe even strawberry would be cool. For now, I have many bags of greenberry and I am off to find different things to mix it with and make it a little more tasty. I find that a least one if not two shakeology's a day is a good thing though I do need to skip the multi-vitamins on the two shake days. I get the shakes from too much Vitamin B. Shakeology shakes are good because they are healthy fast food and since I have so much in the house I might as well use it up for economy's sake. I love not having to wash so many dishes and my lunch bag to work is pretty light. Eventually I will have to start ordering more shakeology because I don't know if I can go back to cooking 3 meals a day. How come all
the bad habits are easy to acquire but good habits take longer? I don't get that.
Today is my day to walk around the park in Sherman Oaks but not if the rain doesn't clear up. Hopefully it will. I have given up Shakespeare class to walk. I still meet people walking in the park. I rather be around those that are into fitness and health. I do enough sitting on the butt all week. Once my ankle is fully healed I am going to sign up for rock climbing classes in Malibu. Indoor classes very controlled and safe. I don't know about rock climbing in the wild yet. Maybe that is in my future or not. For now, It is 11 weeks to Summit and I have alot of work to do. The closer I get toward my goal, the better I feel and the better time I will have. Let's do this!!!

I can't blame it on the rain!
Yesterday was cut short because I took a fall as I left the house. I spent 4 hours icing and coddling my injuries. I didn't notice the four inch gash on my leg until bedtime. At least I didn't rip my new yoga pants. :) I am almost healed today, a few bruises and limping a bit. Laundry will have to wait for Saturday or Sunday, but I did get my food shopping done.
I'd love to stay home from work today for no other reason except to read this great book I picked up. It is a good read if you are so inclined, "If Buddha came to Dinner". That said, I am not too injured to workout so I will limp through my workout and stretch this morning. Then off to work and hopefully a quick commute to work even though it's raining.

It's Thursday!
Welcome to another day! The sun is shining and it's raining. I guess mother nature is having one of those days. My day I hope will fair better. Planning on a hike this afternoon
after all my chores are done. Food shopping to fill the house with healthy sustainable food. A quick performance ball and power half hour workout. This combination seems to be working well these days. Since it's tax season, I've been doing two shakeology shakes a day. It keeps the food shopping and cooking light. As well, as clean-up. Whoever thought
shakeology would be a fast food. Take that MickeyDee's. I have to out myself and say that
yesterday I had some white flour. So I start my 30 days over of no white flour and no white sugar. I have cleaned out all the cupboards of the offending items organic or not, white foods have been banned from the kitchen, including potatoes. AHHH the rain has stopped...

Up and Atom!!
Well I don't know if that's how you spell it but that's what they used to say back in the day. I have been hitting the sack (another old saying) early and sleeping better than I have slept in awhile. This has caused me to get up early and really enjoy my morning again. I love getting to my day job already tired but feeling accomplished. After all life is about the time we spend away from our jobs or having a job would just seem foolish. Unless of course you have your dream job or career. My day job, although one of the better one's I've had over the years, is still just a day job. My dream job is starting to slowly eek out money into my pocket. I just keep on my steady course... actually I surrendered a few months ago and didn't even noticed money was flowing into my account. Now that was a surprise. Not alot of money but enough to cover my own workout expenses. Speaking of which after physical therapy yesterday today is a rest day and then back to it tomorrow. My new food plan is working out well... meaning I'm sticking to it and having lots of energy through out the day. That's the plan energy in and energy out. Keeping my car fueled and raring to go...(another old saying) See you all tomorrow.

And time moves quickly!
Good Morning! Alot has changed since January and I am progressing slow and steady. I am happy to have healed my neck and now I am starting back to intense exercise. I have been doing interval training with the 10 minute Performance Ball, Yoga and Walking out in the fresh air. The food part has morphed into a mostly organic diet, low glycemic (which is basically low carb but not no carb). I have started a food journal in which I mark how I feel before and after eating which is an eye opener. I can see how certain foods make me feel. Since food/nutrition is all about fueling your body, it helps to see how the fuel actually affects your body. This way of fueling my body is very deliberate. It is actually fun to be that aware of your own body. It is nutrition at it's core.
